As if the results of breaking these energy-efficient, soon-to-be government-mandated CFLs weren’t disturbing enough, this report notes the health hazards to employees who are involved in the manufacturing of them. Here’s one interesting note from the article:
Dozens of workers who were interviewed on condition of anonymity described living with the fear of mercury poisoning. They gave detailed accounts of medical tests that found numerous workers had dangerous levels of the toxin in their urine.
