This link is to a copy of the House Republican alternative to a health-care bill. One thing noteworthy right off the top about it is that it takes up much less space — only 230 pages. It also claims to avoid the following:
- raising taxes
- cutting Medicare benefits for seniors
- adding to the national deficit
- intervening in the doctor-patient relationship
- institutiting a government takeover of health care
But all of this is, of course, pie-in-the-sky thinking given that both houses of Congress and the presidency are contolled by another party.
