Here’s a site with a directly opposite perspective from this blog: “Government is Good.” Its claim that the institution is “vital” is certainly one that not many would disagree with, but the degree to which this site goes in praising the “achievements of government” is, to say the least, a bit too high.
Most of the items on its list of supposed achievements are many of the same areas of government action criticized on this blog. It’s a huge stretch to say that business regulation, public-health programs, entitlements and housing policies — all listed as achievements — have had an “admirable record of success,” though the site claims just that.
