Government Waste on Display

One of the more interesting examples of “stimulus” money waste given in this AP article on the subject is the fact that tax money has been spent on road signs like the one below touting that a road project was paid for under the stimulus effort, known officially as the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

The signs were estimated to cost around $300 each. The top of each sign reads “Putting America to Work.” Am I to assume this refers to the extra amount of work hours that each American taxpayer will have to work in order to pay for these wasteful signs?
